On an annual basis CFA Society NC will assemble a panel of senior-level investment executives from a broad range of industries to share their unique insights. Panelists will represent:

Libby P. George – Director of Investments
Panelist
Libby George is currently the Director of Investments at North Carolina State University accumulating over 30 years of experience in investment management, corporate, educational, and financial accounting.
Libby currently manages five portfolios at NC State with assets in excess of $1.7 billion in short term, intermediate term, charitable giving, traditional long- term endowment assets as well as long-term endowment assets invested in a sustainable responsible and impactful manner. Ms. George is currently on the editorial committee of iConnections Investment Institute, a member of the John Rex Endowment Board, member of the CAP Trust/UNC 403B Investment Committee, and a member of the Executive & Steering Committees of the Intentional Endowment Network. Ms. George previously served on the State of North Carolina’s Supplemental Retirement Board of Trustees as appointed by Governor Beverly Perdue in July 2009 and was the Chair of the Investment Subcommittee of the Supplemental Retirement Board. Libby was a NC State University Award for Excellence Nominee in 1991, received the Pride of the Wolfpack Award in 2001, named one of the 125 Transformational Women of NC State in 2013, and in 2019, received the Rodney H. Adams Endowment Management Award from NACUBO (National Association of College and Business Officers) for outstanding individual contributions to professional development activities related to University Endowment and Investment Management, as well as being named one of the Top 30 Investors in Next-Generation leading Endowments by Trusted Insight. Libby received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Auburn University and was an All-American NCAA athlete in Swimming for the Auburn Tigers. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1992.

Mark E. Roberts, CFA

Mark E.Roberts serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Ironsides Asset Advisors, LLC, as well as a Managing Director for the Tuscarora Company (a family office).
Immediately preceding that, Mr. Roberts was the Director of Global Equities and Hedged Strategies for the North Carolina Retirement Systems where he and his team were responsible for the management of the $33 billion Global Equity and Hedge Fund portfolios for the State of North Carolina. Additionally, Mr. Roberts has served as Chief Investment Officer for families and provided consulting services for endowments and foundations in both asset allocation, manager due diligence and portfolio construction. Earlier in his career, Mr. Roberts served as Director of Risk Management for Centura Bank and had asset – liability management responsibilities. Mr. Roberts received his Master of Science degree in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University. Mr. Roberts serves on the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine Philanthropic Advisory Board. Mr. Roberts is the past Chairman of the Board for the NC State Investment Fund and still serves on the fund’s board. He is a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts and the American Finance Association. Mr. Roberts has served on multiple non- profit boards.

Matt Bank, CFA

Matt Bank joined Global Endowment Management in March 2018 following a stint at Wellington Management developing US product strategy and six years as a Partner and Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Windhorse Capital Management, an Outsourced CIO and multi-family office.
Prior to that, he spent five years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York. Matt supports Stephanie Lynch in leading Global Endowment Management’s investor service efforts. He holds a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College where he graduated with honors, and an M.B.A. from Tuck School of Business. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Daniele Donahoe, CFA

Daniele Donahoe came to McShane Partners Wealth & Investment Advisory in May 2010 from Columbia Management Group, previously owned by Bank of America, whereas a Senior Portfolio Manager she co-managed the Columbia Small Cap Growth II fund.
Prior to Columbia Management, Daniele served as an Associate Analyst on an Institutional Investor Magazine Ranked Equity Research Team following the Enterprise Software Industry at Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup) in New York. She has also served as an associate at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, CA and J.C. Bradford in Nashville, TN. Throughout her career, Daniele has focused on equity research across a broad range of industries ranging from multi-billion dollar corporations to small and micro capitalization equities, and she has co-authored industry publications such as B2B eCommerce: A Vertical and Horizontal Perspective and E2E Commerce: How the Internet Redefines Enterprise Software. Daniele is a CFA charterholder and a graduate of the Kenan-Flagler
Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She recently passed Level I of the CAIA. Daniele is also a majority shareholder of Rinehart Wealth Management.
Daniele served on the board of NC CFA Society and is a member of the Women’s Impact Fund and the Women Executives (WE). Daniele serves on the Investment Committee at the Foundation for the Carolinas. She served as a tutor in the Study Buddies program at Dilworth Elementary. In 2014, she was honored with the Mecklenburg Times 50 Most Influential Women award. Daniele is frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and other investment related publications.
