Alan McKnight

Alan McKnight is an Executive Vice President and serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Regions Asset Management.  In this role, he is responsible for overall investment strategy, portfolio and risk management, and portfolio construction for approximately $50BN in assets under management. In addition, he is responsible for the development and execution of investment policies, strategy, and tactics, and is chairman of the Investment Working Group.  He also serves as the chief spokesperson on portfolio strategy, asset allocation and overall markets for the Bank with groups such as CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money and Thomson Reuters.

Prior to joining Regions in 2015, McKnight was a managing director and Head of Institutional Investments for SunTrust. He also served as the Chief Investment Officer for SunTrust Institutional Investment Advisors, as well as a portfolio manager with Equitable Asset Management and Morgan Stanley.

McKnight has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. He serves on the board of directors of the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center and the Alliance Theatre, as well as the Investment Committee for the Woodruff Arts Center.
