SUMMARY:2019 New Charterholder reception
DESCRIPTION:Private reception prior to 2020 Outlook Dinner to recognize the 2019 New Charterholders and Level 3 Passed Candidates. \nSPEAKER\nDan Fasciano\, CFA\nDan Fasciano is the National Director of Portfolio Management at BNY Mellon Wealth Management.  In this capacity he is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the firm’s asset allocation and overall investment thinking into $250 billion of its client portfolios.  He is a voting member of the firm’s Investment Strategy and Investment Policy Committees.  Additionally\, Dan works directly with a number of the firm’s larger family relationships on a range of investment matters including asset allocation. \nPrior to his return to BNY Mellon\, Dan served as Director of the State of Florida’s $17 billion Treasury and for a number of years as Head of US Investment Office for Aviva Investors\, one of London’s largest investment firms.     \nDan is currently a member of the CFA Institute’s Board of Governors where he chairs its Investment Committee.  The CFA currently includes 170\,000 active members worldwide.  He served for a number of years as the Presidents Council Chair at the CFA Institute and Presidents Council Representative representing the Eastern United States.   Dan is past Chair of the 6\,000 member CFA Society Boston as well a past member of its Board of Directors.  He was awarded lifetime membership at the CFA Society Boston in 2016.   \nDan received his BA from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA from Boston University.  In addition to the CFA designation\, Dan maintains both the CAIA and CMT designations.

DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW\n\n\n\nPlease join CFA Society of North Carolina as we celebrate our 2020 Annual Outlook Dinner. This is the premier networking event of the year\, bringing together over 350 of North Carolina’s leading investment professionals and key decision-makers.  \n\n\n\nThis year our keynote speaker will be Daniel Clifton\, Partner at Strategas\, speaking on “Trade\, Trump and the 2020 Election”. Mr. Clifton is a Partner and Head of Policy Research for Strategas Securities. In this capacity\, Mr. Clifton evaluates government policy initiatives and its impact on the global economy and financial markets for institutional investors. \n\n\n\nSPEAKER\n\n\n\nDaniel Clifton has been recognized as a top analyst of Washington policy by Institutional Investor magazine for 10 consecutive years. Separately\, Mr. Clifton is also ranked as a top Wall Street analyst in the category of Accounting and Tax Policy. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Strategas\, Daniel has a long record of public service working in government\, on political campaigns\, as a lobbyist\, and running a non-profit organization. \n\n\n\nMr. Clifton was Executive Director of the American Shareholders Association (ASA)\, a non-partisan\, non-profit organization which analyzes public policy affecting shareholders. In this capacity\, Daniel was part of coalitions that successfully lowered capital gains and dividend tax rates to 15 percent\, a repatriation tax holiday on foreign source revenue in 2004\, and reform of the nation’s private-sector pension system. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining ASA\, Mr. Clifton was Federal Affairs Manager for Americans for Tax Reform and served as a senior staff member in two gubernatorial administrations working on economic issues. Daniel has also worked in various capacities on elections at federal\, state\, and local levels. \n\n\n\nMr. Clifton received both his BA in Urban Planning and his MS in Public Policy from Rutgers University where he was a Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics and a Harold Martin Fellow for Public Policy.
