SUMMARY:Introduction to Python for Business and Finance
DESCRIPTION:Python is a high-level\, object-oriented programming language that is used in a variety of projects ranging from data science and machine learning to backend web development. In fact\, it is one of the most in-demand programming languages today. \n\n\n\nLearning Python is a great entry point into the technical world as the syntax is much easier to learn compared to other programming languages. Because of its syntax simplicity\, Python is a common first programming language for business and finance individuals. \n\n\n\nBut\, do not be misinformed though! Just because Python has easier syntax does not make it any less powerful compared to other languages. Many of the world’s tech majors use Python as part of their technical ecosystems. \n\n\n\nThis virtual\, interactive class will be held over three sessions on March 1-3 in the evening\, see the course schedule below for details. The course teaches students foundational Python concepts and how to use Python’s popular libraries to complete various technical tasks. Students are presented with Python coding challenges throughout the day to test their understanding of the material. The course culminates with a challenging in-class coding project where students apply concepts taught in the course to create a game. \n\n\n\nWhat This Course Offers:\n\n\n\n\nA solid Python foundation\n\n\n\nHands-on Python programming experience\n\n\n\nOverview of different development environments\n\n\n\nOverview of popular Python libraries\n\n\n\nCourse notes\, certificate of completion\, and post-seminar email support for 1 year\n\n\n\nAn engaging and practical training approach with a qualified instructor with relevant technical\, business\, and educational experience.\n\n\n\n\nWho is This For:\n\n\n\nThis course is relevant for any professionals who want to gain a hands-on introduction to Python. \n\n\n\nView the full Introduction to Python Course Curriculum.\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\nMarch 1- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 2- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 3- 6:00-8:00 PM

SUMMARY:Introduction to Data Science for Finance
DESCRIPTION:The amount of data available to organizations and individuals is unprecedented. Financial services sectors\, including securities & investment services and banking\, have the most digital data stored per firm on average. As a result\, financial companies have been on an innovation and technology push to create new\, disruptive technologies that can maximize use of these data assets to solve some of the industry’s toughest problems. \n\n\n\nThis virtual\, interactive class will be held over three sessions on March 15-17th (see the schedule below for details) provides a structured teaching environment where students learn classic data science methods\, which are used as the bases for many financial technologies. At the end of the workshop\, course participants will have applied the Python programming language and essential data science techniques to solve complex finance problems. Specific areas in finance where the data science skills acquired from this course can be effectively applied include: sentiment analysis\, advanced time series analysis\, risk management\, real-time pricing and economic data analysis\, customer segmentation analysis\, and machine learning algorithm creation for financial technologies. \n\n\n\nWhat This Course Offers:\n\n\n\n\nAn overview of data science methods relevant to finance and fintech\n\n\n\nExplanation of the hype around data science\, machine learning & big data\n\n\n\nHands-on Python programming experience\n\n\n\nUnderstanding of effective data visualization techniques using Python\n\n\n\nCourse notes\, certificate of completion\, and post-seminar email support for 1 year\n\n\n\nAn engaging and practical training approach with a qualified instructor with relevant technical\, business\, and educational experiences\n\n\n\n\nWho Is This For:\n\n\n\nThis course is relevant for professionals who want to gain a hands-on introduction to essential data science methods that are utilized in finance and fintech. \n\n\n\n*Please note that you must have introductory Python programming skills before attending this workshop. Cognitir offers an online Introduction to Python course that you can enroll in and complete if you don’t have basic Python skills. Our specific introductory Python course is not required; any introductory course is fine. You must have basic Python skills before the start of this data science workshop. \n\n\n\nView the full Introduction to Data Science for Finance Curriculum \n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n\nMarch 15- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 16- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 17- 6:00-8:00 PM

SUMMARY:Data Visualization and Business Analytics with Microsoft Power BI Training Course
DESCRIPTION:Strong data culture is a sine qua non for effective organizations in the digital age\, and proprietary data insights are increasingly becoming the most important asset such organizations can accrue. Additionally\, firms that are invested in crafting a compelling\, authentic narrative from their data are uniquely positioned to establish enduring brands\, often thriving in the dynamic markets and uncertain times we find ourselves in. When it comes to communicating such insights in service of a great mission or brand\, there are few things that can beat a striking data visualization. \n\n\n\nThis virtual\, interactive class will be held over three sessions on March 22-24th\, see details in the schedule below. Over the duration of this course\, we invite participants to explore an exciting and extensible data visualization framework (Microsoft Power BI) that allows finance and business professionals to create reports and dashboards on top of their existing data products. Participants will learn how to gather relevant data from sample spreadsheets\, overcome common data preparation obstacles\, and build an interactive dashboard they can publish to the web. \n\n\n\nAt the conclusion of the workshop\, participants will have developed their own web dashboard that they can readily adapt to their own professional contexts\, and which they can then use to obtain better insights into their own work and/or share it with their co-workers. \n\n\n\nWhat This Course Offers:\n\n\n\n\nHands-on data visualization experience Microsoft Power BI and its Power Query engine\n\n\n\nEvery participant leaves with a working dashboard that they can connect to theirorganization’s data sources\n\n\n\nInsights on how best to automate tedious data workflows with web dashboards\n\n\n\nOverview of data sourcing\, preparation\, and visualization pitfalls\n\n\n\nCourse notes\, certificate of completion\, and post-seminar email support for 1 year An engaging and practical training approach with a qualified instructor with relevanttechnical\, business\, and educational experiences\n\n\n\n\nWho This Is For:\n\n\n\nThe target audience for this course is finance and business professionals\, but the skills we teach here are transferable across many disciplines. \n\n\n\nPrerequisites:\n\n\n\nThere are no prerequisites for this course\, though some may find it helpful to have experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Query\, as Power BI uses similar formulas and frameworks. \n\n\n\nView the full Intro to Data Visualization and Business Analytics with Microsoft Power BI Curriculum.\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n\nMarch 22- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 23- 6:00-8:30 PM\n\n\n\nMarch 24- 6:00-8:00 PM
